It comes as no surprise that Troy Parrott is leaving in this window. The first two teams under Ange Postecoglou did not include the 21-year-old. And it was clear from his stint at Preston North End the previous season that he is still far from being the finished product.

Parrott would have fallen further down the list if Tottenham decided to sign another forward; they have been extensively connected with a deal for Gift Orban. Parrott would have found himself further down the pecking order.

It is difficult to determine exactly how Tottenham views the young player and his prospects of joining the first squad in the future. However, it does seem as though this might be a make-or-break spell for him from the outside.

Hopefully, Tottenham is a team on the rise. Ange Postecoglou has certainly made quick work of winning back the support of the crowd. They intend to challenge some of the heavyweights once more in the near future.

This makes the task facing people like Parrott even more challenging. But for the time being, he will concentrate on what he can accomplish in the Netherlands.

Parrott posted a statement on Instagram about his relocation to Excelsior. Maddison, who also responded, wished the young person well in her message.

If Parrott succeeds, that will be encouraging. On loans, he has had varying degrees of success. To convey a genuine message to his parent club, this may therefore need to be the moment when it clicks for him.
