Erik Lamela says he’d love ‘superstar’ player to leave Spurs and joined him in Spain

Erik Lamela says he’d love it if ‘superstar’ player left Tottenham and joined him in Spain

According to Erik Lamela, Bryan Gil, a winger for Tottenham Hotspur, would be welcomed back to Sevilla with open arms.

After having surgery in the summer, the Spaniard is currently healing. He has yet to play this year, contrary to widespread expectations that he would be traded in the offseason.

Lamela would be thrilled to see him again if he does decide to leave Tottenham.

Erik Lamela says he’d love it if Tottenham’s Bryan Gil moved to Sevilla

In the summer of 2021, Bryan Gil was acquired by Tottenham from Sevilla, and Erik Lamela was a key player in making it happen.

In order to sign the gifted winger, who was one of the most intriguing prospects in Spain at the time, Spurs paid the Spanish club a sum of £21.4 million (Guardian) and sent the Argentine in the opposite direction.

Gil’s tenure at Tottenham, however, has fallen short of expectations.

The “superstar” player from Spain has played little over 1,060 minutes of football while wearing a Spurs jersey and has been loaned away twice. Normally, he would have departed in the summer, but a surgically necessary injury kept him in North London.

Sevilla is still interested in signing Gil, although his future is still far from certain. Lamela claims he would adore the move if it were to go place.

He stated, “I would love to (see him back at Sevilla) because of the person he is,” according to Estadio Deportivo.

I get along well with him, and he is a fantastic company.

It’s possible that this transaction takes place during the January transfer window.

Don’t you think Tottenham’s offense is great right now? On the wings, they have Son Heung-min, Manor Solomon, Brennan Johnson, and Dejan Kulusevski, and Ivan Perisic and Ryan Sessegnon are also capable of playing there.

Gil will find it very challenging to make the team, especially without playing in Europe, and there is a risk that Spurs would let him go in the winter transfer window if he doesn’t make an impression once he returns from his injury.

We’re confident that Sevilla would think about re-signing him if he became available. Lamela genuinely wants it to happen, as he has acknowledged.
