Tottenham could now keep Bryan Gil

In the summer of 2021, Tottenham acquired Bryan Gil from Sevilla in a player-plus-cash trade that also saw Erik Lamela go in the opposite direction.

Many people considered the “superstar” Spaniard to be one of the country’s greatest talents at the time. Although he is an excellent player, he hasn’t played much for Spurs due to various reasons.

Gil has been deployed on loan twice, and it was widely anticipated that he would depart in the summer as well. A surgically treated injury, however, eliminated those possibilities.

Spurs’ priority during the January transfer window, according to The Times, will be departures. The club was rumored to allow Eric Dier, Hugo Lloris, and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg to depart, as well as Gil.

But the story suggests that Gil might still be needed at Tottenham in light of the critical injuries sustained by Manor Solomon and Ivan Perisic.
