The verdict on Ange Postecoglou’s Tottenham from their Premier League oppositions

In the 2023–24 season, Tottenham has had a successful start, earning numerous accolades thus far for both the club and head coach Ange Postecoglou.

After an incredible start under new head coach Ange Postecoglou, the 2023–24 season has been one that Tottenham fans will never forget. Spurs are at the top of the table heading into the second international break of the season after being undefeated in their opening eight league games.

Lilywhites have had an incredible start to the season, and as domestic football returns, the hope is that they can hold their spot at the top of the table for the next weeks. The greatest thing about Spurs’ early success in the current campaign is that Postecoglou’s team still has a lot more to offer as he works to properly instill his vision of football in his staff.

We have chosen to do the same for the four games played before the most recent break in play after reviewing what the opposition had to say about Tottenham before the international break in September. What has been said, precisely?Check out what football.london finds below.

    Paul Heckingbottom on Tottenham

“I’ve liked watching them so far this season; it’s been enjoyable, and you probably only truly get a sense of their strategy when you watch them play against them. At his pre-game press conference before Sheffield United’s September encounter at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, he stated, “It has been good.”

Looking closely at what they’re doing and how they’ve been approaching their work has been interesting. We can’t go there expecting them to perform poorly since they pose some serious threats. Instead, we must go there expecting them to display all of their quality and pose a threat.

“They’ve got players who haven’t been quiet in any of the games this season so we know it’s going to be tough in that respect but I’d like to think that we can cause them problems as well.”

    Mikel Arteta on Tottenham

In his press conference prior to the game, the Spaniard described the situation as “a new challenge, a new opportunity.” “It goes without saying that their new manager has done absolutely fantastic. The entire atmosphere of the club has shifted due to him. Additionally, different style. In order to defeat them, we must accept it, be authentic, and put on the show we require.”

Kane was the one who brought everything together, and he accomplished it in a variety of methods from across the pitch, the speaker continued. Now things have changed a little. Their coaching technique is definitely different from the previous two, in my opinion. In my opinion, they are a completely different team because of the specificity with which they move with certain players.

    Arteta on Ange Postecoglou

“I think he’s great. He was owned by players I know and had players, and they all talk about him in the highest possible terms. It is evident that this is not a coincidence,” he said.

“It is evident from the start that he is blending in. The best thing about this league is that every game is really challenging and there are elite managers and competitiveness.”

Arteta on if Tottenham will be title contenders

The manager of Arsenal conceded, “I think they are a really good side.” I think their coaching is excellent. While the team’s heart and intensity are evident, I believe it is premature for anyone to speculate about our future after just six games.”

    Jurgen Klopp on Ange Postecoglou

Before Liverpool’s trip to N17, the German said, “Tottenham are doing really well, Ange seems to be a top bloke.” I haven’t met him yet, so no. It’s exciting to meet him, though. If you saw Celtic play in the last few years, I’m quite sure everyone already knew.

What type of coach he is and who he is as a coach coming out to Tottenham, where he is clearly providing the offensive football that I believe they were all desperate for. He is performing quite well considering that Harry Kane left the team a year ago. Their team is organized well. It will definitely be a challenge for the two of us since it’s interesting to see.”

    Klopp on Tottenham

“Tottenham, it was always that you played against the best counter-attacking team in the world in recent years,” the Liverpool manager said. “What they had set up there was astounding. If a ball was lost anywhere, it would eventually make its way to Kane, who would then locate Son. This would put them one on one with the goalie, and the idea was essentially not to defend.

These days, a lot more of it is dependent on possessions and personal, original, creative thoughts, and similar concepts. We saw through the analysis that they are truly good, but they will have discovered areas where we fall short, just as we have discovered areas where they fall short.

They have a whole week to work on all of these tasks and also perform the analysis. As a result, since they last played, I’m not sure how many practices they have, but they have the enormous benefit of being able to develop new set-piece and similar routines and alter their entire offensive and defensive strategies in a single week.

“They will take some time to cause us problems since I know he is an exceptional coach who enjoys what he does. We’ve recovered from the game, and today is a crucial practice. Hopefully, we’ll be well-prepared, and after that, we’ll see what kind of game Ange and his boys will put on.

Rob Edwards on Ange Postecoglou and Tottenham

The Luton manager remarked, “I’m very impressed; they’ve been excellent.” They also have one of the best managers in Ange, who is, in my opinion, exceptional. We all know how talented the team’s players are, and I truly enjoy what he’s done with them.

“I understand there have been some additions, but I truly appreciate how they have adjusted to life without Harry Kane, who was such a beacon for them. They are a quick team that plays with aggression, presses extremely hard, and responds well to ball losses.

They pose a lot of dangers, have a very distinct style, and can keep the ball, but this is why we were promoted. We want to truly give a good account of ourselves in these kinds of games, which we have been eager to play.”

Edwards on Tottenham’s win at Luton

He said, “They’re an elite team, and just because they’re down to 10 men doesn’t mean, right, just go on and win now Luton, it’s not that easy.” We’re still having trouble with that because they’re so well-organized, but I think we missed some important details.
