Rassie Erasmus, the director of rugby for SA Rugby, has stated that the tense Rugby World Cup quarterfinal matchup between the Springboks and France on Saturday did not result in any injuries.

This means that Erasmus and head coach Jacques Nienaber will have a full roster of 33 players to choose from when they assemble their 23-man squad for the semi-final matchup against England on Saturday, October 21.

At 21:00 (SA time), the match at the Stade de France in Paris will begin.

Rassie Erasmus applauded the Springboks for their success in balancing the players’ training and playing schedules.

“We divided the workload among player minutes. Although we are aware that this game will undoubtedly be close, we are fortunate in that all 33 of our players are healthy and should be available for selection, the coach stated.

The Springboks returned to the training field on Tuesday after having had Monday off to recover and move hotels in Paris.

REVEALED: When the Springboks will name team for England semifinal showdown!

The Springboks won an exciting 29-28 match against the hosts France on Sunday night to advance to the 2023 Rugby World Cup semifinals.

The Springboks won an exciting 29-28 match against the hosts France on Sunday night to advance to the 2023 Rugby World Cup semifinals.

France started out strong in a match that was very closely contested, as was to be expected, and their upbeat audience made things more difficult for the Springboks.

It would then be no surprise that it would be the French who dotted down first, during the opening exchanges of the game, with the Springboks answering back through speedster Kurt-Lee Arendse. The two sides would then continue exchanging tries in a high tempo first half that saw a total of six tries scored, a record for a World Cup.

The Springboks trailed the French at the half, but because to the clever change of Kwagga Smith, they were able to immediately retake the lead. For the green and gold, Smith developed into a threat in the breakdown, and several of his attacking and defensive turnovers ultimately proved to be the difference in the game. Jacques Nienaber and Rassie Erasmus will already be plotting the demise of the English as they recover from the high of that game.

The semifinal will be a repeat of the 2019 Rugby World Cup, where the Springboks beat England 32-12, and the mind games have already begun. SA director of rugby Erasmus started following England Rugby on Twitter, and where it gets interesting is because, that is the only account he happens to be following. Soon, coach Nienaber will be naming his squad to face the English at Stade de France, in Paris.

SPRINGBOKS STICK TO WORLD RUGBY PROTOCOLS ONCE AGAIN

With the Springboks making it a tradition to name their match day squads earlier in the week, they went against that last week, opting to name it two days before the game as per World Rugby regulations. They will be doing so again this week, with the World Rugby schedule confirming that their team announcement will come on Thursday.  KickOff for this game is set for 21h00 on Saturday.
