Tomas Soucek has made it clear there will be life at West Ham without Declan Rice after the “good changes.”
Following Declan Rice’s £105 million transfer to Arsenal, we reported on a number of data that show West Ham is a superior team.
Of course, West Ham supporters can see that for themselves. But two astounding facts help to support it in a significant way.
In other words, West Ham is one of just six of the 92 teams in the nation to have scored in every game thus far.
Additionally, the Hammers are 10 points ahead of where they were at this time last year, when Rice was their captain and standout player. That is by far the largest rise in the entire league.
We presented you with concrete data evidence last week that Rice’s push to join Arsenal had improved West Ham and Tomas Soucek.
For the first time since December 2020, Soucek scored in back-to-back Premier League games for West Ham after his goal against Newcastle. That happened almost three years ago.
And he has now scored as many goals for the Hammers in their last two league games as he had in their previous 45 – yes, FIFTY FIVE – games combined.
While at West Ham, Rice was a fantastic player and teammate. However, Soucek was scandalously defamed in some circles.
He is now raising the issue.
With a frank comment on West Ham life after Rice and the “good changes,” Soucek dispels all doubt.
Soucek claims it is “no secret” that returning to his previous position in a revamped midfield this season makes him happier, better, and more motivated in an interview with the West Ham website.
And he said the adjustments made by David Moyes were “good” and the new midfield partnership between James Ward-Prowse and Edson Alvarez was “perfect.”
There isn’t a major secret, in my opinion, Soucek remarked.
“This season, I’m incredibly motivated. The team is performing admirably, and I want to advance in the games.
It was a little different last season, and things didn’t always go our way. This season has seen some changes, and I believe they are positive ones that have greatly benefited me.
“I’ve already scored a few goals, and I intend to continue doing so in terms of my goals, our results, and my playing time as well.
“Compared to last season, it has changed. Edson and James have joined my team as new players, and we’re having a great time. I believe we can all move ahead and play defense at the same time.
“It’s ideal since I know they will cover the area behind me if I run towards the box. Also, I’ll stay and support our defenders if one of them is up high on the field. I love using them together, and I have fun toying with them.”
