Pundit claims Spurs have just one ‘missing piece’ to move forward for Premier League title

Alan Huston asserts Only one “missing piece” stands between Spurs and the Premier League title.

If Tottenham Hotspur were to add another elite number nine to their roster, Alan Hutton has stated that they might make a run for the Premier League title.

The concern of where the Lilywhites would score goals this season following the departure of Harry Kane was raised by many, but Ange Posteocoglou’s team hasn’t had any trouble thus far.

Spurs, led by Son Heung-min, have been dominant as the primary striker, scoring 20 goals and allowing only eight goals in their first nine games of the season.

Spurs supporters will be hoping that the South Korean, who has scored seven goals this season, can maintain his current form and win the Golden Boot, just like he did in the 2021โ€“2022 campaign.

Prior to the January transfer window, Spurs are still rumored to be interested in attackers. In recent weeks, sources have suggested that the North London club is keeping an eye on players like Jonathan David of Lille, Ivan Toney of Brentford, and Santiago Gimenez of Feyenoord (90 minutes).

Who should Spurs sign as their next centre-forward?

If Tottenham were to recruit a top goal scorer in January, Hutton thinks they would have a real chance of winning the Premier League.

The former Spurs right-back said to Football Insider, in response to a query about whether Postecoglou’s team could continue their recent winning streak, “It is an interesting one and I think that is the question that everyone will be asking.”

“I believe they will succeed this season under Ange; I know many people did not know him before he joined Spurs, but I obviously knew him really well. With his unique playing style, he has completely changed that team.

“I believe he can carry on in this manner; nothing will change for him; he will continue to play in this manner and want the same behavior from the players. He has made excellent additions and extracted maximum performance from the guys that were already there.

The main concern I have is if he can add in January. Is it possible for him to go grab another nine so he has more options? Although their start has been truly amazing, I believe that is the missing element if they truly want to go out and contend for the crown.

The club may be enticed to recruit another winger depending on how quickly Solomon heals, but Postecoglou’s top priority in January will be to sign a center-back and a central midfielder (if Hojbjerg departs). I believe Tottenham will wait till the summer of next year to acquire a number nine.
