Alan Shearer predicts who’s winning the Premier League this season
On ‘The Rest Is Football Podcast,’ Shearer, Lineker, and Micah Richards discussed their predictions for the Premier League.
Gary Lineker believed Arsenal and Tottenham should be in the mix, even though Shearer was unwilling to give up on City.
Shearer declared at the outset that he was not going to change. I said, “City.”
Lineker then added his commentary, saying, “Of course, I chose Arsenal.”
“Mostly because just the two of you could say City, and the rest of us couldn’t!
“But they are there, right beside them, and it’s fantastic that Tottenham is competing for the title; they are definitely in it for a top four spot, and they are performing far better than they expected.”
Naturally, the fact that Liverpool was left out is maybe a little bit cruel.
It appears that this season will provide a four-horse race to the fans, which hasn’t happened in a while.
Shearer also must believe that Arsenal and Tottenham are closing close on City, even though he made no mention of them.
Shearer still thinks City will pip Arsenal and Tottenham to the title
Erling Haaland, of course, might finally make the difference when comparing the three already named.
Not all of the North London clubs can always claim to have a world-class goal scorer like Manchester City does.
However, Son Heung-Min is currently performing admirably for Tottenham in replacing goals from Harry Kane.
A person who, Ian Wright acknowledges, is currently among his favorites.
However, there is still no player at Arsenal who can reliably score 20 goals a season.
Although Gabriel Jesus is incredibly intelligent, he hasn’t shown that he can score goals consistently.
In addition, Alan Shearer continues to have concerns about Eddie Nketiah’s capacity to set the tone for Mikel Arteta.
Arsenal and Tottenham both need to think they have a real chance, even though Shearer notes that City are still the clear favorites to win the championship.
