Latest Tottenham injury news ahead of Aston Villa as nine ruled out amid Son Heung-min scare

Son Heung-min, the captain of Tottenham, raised some eyebrows when he was hurt during South Korea’s victory over Singapore. The match against Aston Villa is scheduled for this Sunday at 2pm. With only a single point separating the two teams, Unai Emery and Co. will travel to north London to take on Ange Postecoglu’s group. Spurs, who have been plagued by serious injury issues lately, are already missing James Maddison and Micky van de Ven, who were both declared out until 2024.

“Micky, obviously, as we saw the other night, [suffered] a fairly significant hamstring injury,” Postecoglou stated. “So, without putting a firm timeline on it, at least a couple of months out for him, so we’re looking at the new year.”

Postecoglu continued, “Maddison has been sent for scans due to a significant ankle injury.” He’ll be gone for a while, likely into the new year as well, since it wasn’t terrific.”

Captain Son is unlikely to be among the nine players who are out of the picture to play Villa. He said, “I am fine now,” following Singapore’s triumph. “At the moment [I went down] I couldn’t feel anything in my foot.”

Goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario was forced to withdraw from the Italy team owing to flu-like symptoms, in addition to defender Destiny Udogie being left out of Luciano Spalletti’s squad. He should be able to play for Villa despite this being only a precaution, as our friends at football.london are aware of.

In other news, Cristian Romero and Yves Bissouma are suspended and will not be available, and Richarlison, Ryan Sessegnon, Manor Solomon, Alfie Whiteman, and Ivan Perisic are all sidelined due to injury.
