Tottenham need a new centre-back in January.
The recent injuries to Mickey Van de Ven and Cristian Romero have highlighted the lack of depth the Spurs have in the back, and this needs to be fixed right away.
In the January transfer window, Tottenham has been connected to several potential signings, including Jean-Clair Todibo and Radu Dragusin.
Spurs have long had their eye on Tosin Adarabioyo. Alasdair Gold stated on the Gold and Guest Talk Tottenham Podcast that the 26-year-old would be amenable to a transfer to Tottenham if a deal could be reached.
Tosin would happily join Spurs
“We’ve discussed Tosin Adarabioyo at Fulham; Spurs have undoubtedly continued to be interested in him.” He’s an intriguing one; similar to Eric Dier, he’s available in the summer. I know he would be open to joining the Spurs if a deal could be reached, but it probably wouldn’t help him as much financially, Gold added.
Tosin Adarabioyo might be the ideal addition for the Spurs.
The center back is ideal for Ange Postecoglou since he is a very wide defender who enjoys playing out from the back and has a lot of speed to play in Postecoglou’s high line.
Adarabioyo, of course, had his education at Manchester City, and this has enabled him to maintain his poise with the ball and desire to play out from the back, a la Pep Guardiola.
Since the beginning, there have been similarities between Guardiola and Postecoglou’s methods; therefore, Tosin joining Spurs would be a logical move.
Since the defender’s contract expires in the summer, a possible steal transfer in January may be in the works.Certainly, as we approach the winter window, this is a situation to watch.
