The year is rapidly closing, which means now is as good time as any to reflect on 2023. I figured the best way to do that would be to count down my top moments from this year.
The brief and terrible reign of Cristian Stellini did not begin until his right-hand man, Antonio Conte, took charge of Tottenham’s home game against Chelsea.
Some of you may recall the negative vibe that pervaded the club at the time. Harry Kane’s departure and Conte’s departure were unavoidable, as was another trophy-less season.
Although the previous season’s finale was largely unmemorable, there was one very memorable event. And it happened when Chelsea in North London was defeated by Tottenham.Only two of our own players scored that day: Oli Skipp and Harry Kane. Skipp’s goal, which was a long-range effort, was especially spectacular to watch, and Kane’s header into the Chelsea goal around the 80th minute sealed the victory. After the win, there was a lot of excitement here at Cartyfreeland, with many supporters calling for Stellini to take over the touchline permanently. Although that latter part did not work out, we still had an amazing game at the Lane. Stay tuned as we continue our countdown tomorrow!
