Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase has been one of the top players in the NFL as he has been electric when healthy. When talking to the assembled media today after practice, he did not hold back on what he felt about the Kansas City Chiefs defense.
Although he is not anticipated to participate in the Week 17 encounter vs the Kansas City Chiefs, Ja’Marr Chase has expressed his belief that this defense will not impede his speed. Due to a shoulder injury, Chase was unable to participate in Week 16.
Joe Burrow, the quarterback, suffered an injury, but Ja’Marr Chase has continued to produce incredible results. He has 93 catches on 132 targets so far this season for 1,156 yards (12.4 yards per grab), including seven touchdown receptions. In the NFL, he is tied for 11th in touchdown receptions, 10th in receiving yards, and 12th in catchesIt will be intriguing to watch whether he can participate in this contest and how he performs against the defense of the Kansas City Chiefs. This would be an intriguing test because, as of Week 17, the Chiefs are second in total yards allowed (287.3) and third in passing yards given up (173.8)
Even if Ja’Marr Chase is among the finest wide receivers in the game, it is not a good idea to take on one of the league’s top defensive teams. This is a classic example of bulletin board content, in large part because of that. The Bengals, who are tied for 10th place in the AFC with the Indianapolis Colts, Houston Texans, and Pittsburgh Steelers, must win in order to have a chance to go to the postseason.
They can’t afford to lose, as seen by their dismal 3-7 record versus AFC teams. Now, the Kansas City Chiefs, who have been struggling recently, have an opportunity to focus on stopping Chase. The less pressure, with an inexperienced quarterback like Jake Browning who is only generating a pitiful 53.2 QBR thus far, the better.
Even though Ja’Marr Chase has only faced the Chiefs in two previous regular season games and has dominated, averaging nine catches for 181.5 yards and 1.5 touchdowns, it is still a bad picture for the club that has to win this game.Make sure to follow me on Twitter at @TalkVinTalk for more of my material.
