LeBron James (left ankle peroneal tendinopathy) and Anthony Davis (bilateral Achilles tendinopathy) are questionable for Thursday’s game against the Chicago Bulls, while Cam Reddish (right ankle sprain) is out. The Los Angeles Lakers have released their injury report.
James missed Tuesday night’s game against the Los Angeles Clippers in order to give his ankle some rest. He has been dealing with this injury for some time. James will probably play against the Bulls despite the dubious tag because Lakers head coach Darvin Ham explained that it was only a precaution to give him a few days off.
The same is true for Davis, who has been able to play through his Achilles problem despite having it on the injury report for some time. Indeed, in the last few weeks, Davis has been playing some of the best basketball of his career, and he should continue to do so against his home team on Thursday night.
Undoubtedly, Davis and company would like to exact revenge on the Bulls for their disappointing loss to the Lakers in Chicago in December.
However, they will need to exact their revenge without Reddish, who has struggled with a number of minor injuries this season. Due to knee and groin problems, the wing has recently missed some time. The Clippers game on Tuesday resulted in this ankle sprain.
Reddish rolled his ankle after colliding with James Harden’s foot while blocking a 3-point shot. Harden is a star player for the Clippers. He eventually made it back to the game, but not before returning to the locker room in excruciating pain.
Considering how badly he rolled his ankle, it’s not shocking that he will now miss a game as the swelling has probably increased. As with many of his injuries this season, the hope is that it’s just a minor sprain and he will only miss one or two games before making a comeback to the starting lineup.
Lakers show a desire for Andre Drummond
Just a few weeks before the deadline, the Lakers will be able to see some possible trade targets when they play the Bulls on Thursday night.
Zach LaVine doesn’t seem to be a top priority for the Lakers anymore, but they have been connected to several Bulls players, including Alex Caruso and DeMar DeRozan.
In addition, the Lakers have expressed interest in getting back together with big man Andre Drummond, presumably in preparation for a postseason game against the reigning Denver Nuggets.
