For the AFC Championship game, the Kansas City Chiefs will travel to Baltimore to play the Baltimore Ravens.
One of the league’s top defenses is that of Kansas City.
They are ranked second in total yards, second in points, fourth in passing, eighth in rushing, and second in sacks.
Regretfully, the Chiefs activated injured reserve for their starting defensive tackle.
The DT was placed on injured reserve by the Kansas City Chiefs.
During the Miami game in the Wild Card round, Derrick Nnadi suffered an elbow injury. The week prior, he skipped practice and was not present for the Divisional Round matchup with Buffalo. They made the decision to put him on season-ending injured reserve after he did not practice this week.
Nnadi is an expert in run defense. He started 17 of the games he played in during the regular season. In addition to one for a loss, one sack, one quarterback hit, and one pass deflection, he recorded 29 tackles.
Kansas City could replace them with two options.
First choice:
First on the list is Mike Pennel. Pennel was a free agent when he began his tenth season. On October 24, Kansas City added him to their practice squad. In three games during the regular season, he was elevated and recorded four tackles, one of which was for a loss.
In both the Divisional Round and the Wild Card, Pennel was upgraded. He started against Buffalo and relieved Nnadi after the latter’s injury against Miami. In the two playoff games, he tallied six tackles.
Pennel might start again tomorrow and is expected to be elevated.
Second option:

This week, the MVP-favorite Lamar Jackson and Baltimore’s formidable offense will put Kansas City’s defense to the test. Baltimore is ranked first in rush, first in passing, sixth in total yards, fourth in points, and sixteenth in sacks.
Against the Houston Texans’ sixth-ranked rushing defense last week, Baltimore ran for 229 yards.
