The Lady Vols boast 185 points in the team standings, with an 8-point advantage over Stanford and a 28-point lead on USC. Tennessee is looking to earn its seventh straight top-10 finish at the NCAA Championships, and if the standings hold, the Big Orange would earn its first top-5 finish since placing third in 2013.
The top individual highlight of the night came in the 100 breast, as senior Mona McSharry won silver as the national runner-up for the second year in a row. During the race, the Sligo, Ireland, native posted the fastest time in SEC history, touching the wall in 56.64. That performance also moved her into a tie for third all-time in the 100-yard breaststroke. It was the fourth year in a row McSharry finished inside the top four in the event at NCAAs, and she’s a three-time medalist in the breaststroke events during her career.
Tennessee’s second medal performance of the evening came in the 400 medley relay. The squad of Josephine Fuller, McSharry, Sara Stotler and Camille Spink brought home the bronze medal thanks to the second-fastest time in program history at 3:25.39. It was UT’s best finish in the event since winning the national title in 2013.
Fuller led things off with a 50.22 split in the 100 back, improving her program record in the event after setting it in prelims earlier in the day with a 50.25 mark. McSharry notched a 56.80 effort—the second fastest 100 breast split in the field—followed by Stotler’s 51.95 100 fly split. Spink anchored the relay with a 46.42 time in the 100 free, which was also the No. 2 time in the field.
In the 100 back, Fuller’s hot week continued, finishing fifth in the 100 back with a time of 50.56. After winning bronze in the 200 IM on Thursday night, this gave Fuller her second individual All-America first team honors for the meet.
Two Lady Vols won their consolation finals, as Brooklyn Douthwright (200 free) and Emelie Fast (100 breast) both finished ninth overall. Douthwright posted a time of 1:42.75 to earn All-America honors in the 200 free for the second year in a row. Fast recorded the No. 2 mark in school history in the 100 breast with a 58.08 effort en route to the first All-America recognition of her career.
During prelims, Regan Rathwell posted the seventh-fastest time in school history in the 100 back, touching the wall in 52.03 to finish 29th overall in the event.

The 1650 free early time trials will begin at 3:45 p.m. The Big Orange is projected to have five individuals qualify for finals based on seeding entering the meet, while a pair of Lady Vols rank within two seeds of being in the finals.
