Harry Kane sends message to Heung-min Son after Tottenham vs West Ham

Tottenham Hotspur kept themselves in contention for a Premier League top-four finish with a 1-1 draw at West Ham United on Tuesday night.

Ange Postecoglou‘s Spurs were looking to secure a second consecutive league win after coming from behind to defeat Luton Town at the weekend.

And Tottenham got off to a good start, as Brennan Johnson continued on his impressive run of form by opening the scoring for the visitors.

The 22-year-old, who was rewarded with a place in the starting XI, repaid his manager’s faith by turning home Timo Werner’s low cross.

However, West Ham responded well and dragged themselves level in the 19th minute, Kurt Zouma heading in unmarked from a corner.

Neither Spurs nor the Hammers showed much cutting edge for the rest of the game, so they ended up sharing the spoils at the London Stadium.

What has Harry Kane said to Spurs captain Son Heung-min?

The game also marked yet another milestone for Tottenham captain Son Heung-min, who made his 400th appearance for Spurs.

Son took to Instagram after the game, expressing his delight with the achievement whilst commiserating a result Tottenham didn’t want.

Many of Son’s peers and fans congratulated him in the comments section, including Spurs legend Harry Kane, who commented: “Congrats brother!”

Son really is Mr Tottenham, having given so much to Spurs over the years and becoming very much fabric of the north London club.

His achievements at Tottenham are worthy of a statue outside the stadium, so let’s hope something along those lines is in the pipeline in the coming years.

In the meantime, Spurs will be eager to push for a top-four place. Last night’s draw kept them fifth on 57 points, two behind fourth-placed Aston Villa.

Tottenham are next in action on Sunday when they host Nottingham Forest in north London.
