Jamie O’Hara absolutely slaughtered certain sections of West Ham United fans this afternoon.
Jamie O’Hara, host of the talkSPORT chat show, has long made West Ham a target, albeit mainly with sincere jokes.
O’Hara has previously criticized the Hammers harshly and has supported our struggles in Europe throughout the previous two years.
After we advanced to the Europa League semifinal in 2022 and won the Europa Conference League in 2023, he was left with an egg on his face.
The 37-year-old’s grievance with West Ham stems primarily from his association with Tottenham. However, he certainly does say some absurd things, and I think all football supporters can agree on that!
However, he’s taken ‘banter’ to another level with his latest criticism of the Hammers, specifically our fans…
Jamie O’Hara rips into certain sections of West Ham fans
The former Premier League footballer is a well-known Spurs fan.
So it’s no surprise really that he always seems to find a way to rile up the Hammers fans.
This time though, he got rather personal in his criticism of us.
Jamie O’Hara had a very strong message for the West Ham fans today:
“When David Moyes walks out of that stadium for the last time, if they don’t clap him or give him a standing ovation, they’re a disgrace. West Ham fans don’t know how lucky they’ve been to have David Moyes in charge and to have got them where he’s got them. two semi-finals, one trophy. I’m telling you, if West Ham fans don’t give him the appreciation and respect he deserves, they’re not real West Ham fans. He deserves a lot of praise for where he’s took that football club.”
Since taking over at the London Stadium for the second time back in December 2019, David Moyes has, overall, done a great job.
He has elevated us to a whole new level and contributed to the transformation of this club.
The major disclaimer is that this season has seen a real regression in our progress. You can only go so far with Moyes’s brand of play. We discovered that the hard way.
Last summer, he had the opportunity to leave at the ideal time, but his ego and stubbornness prevented it. Since the 61-year-old has now overstayed his welcome, it is unlikely that he will receive the proper farewell.
All I can hope for is that the Hammers supporters treat him with a modicum of dignity when he leaves. Nevertheless, I wouldn’t blame any fans if they decide not to give him a standing ovation as he leaves.
If you ask me, Jamie O’Hara’s remarks on the West Ham supporters were a little too critical.
