Defender Spurs missed out in January may now be available on loan – The Spurs Web – Tottenham Hotspur Football News

According to the print edition of Gazzetta dello Sport (08/05/24), Tiago Djalo, who Spurs failed with a move for in January, could be allowed to leave Juventus in the summer.

The report says that a number of Premier League clubs, including Spurs, Newcastle United, Aston Villa and Wolves, showed interest in swooping for the Portuguese defender in January when it became clear that he was on his way out of Lille.

However, it was Juve who were successful in winning the race for centre-back at the time, successfully seeing off competition from the Premier League for the player.

Tiago Djalo could be on the move again

Gazzetta has now stated that Djalo, who has struggled for playing time since joining the Bianconeri, may be leaving Turin this summer.

It explains that the center-back is unlikely to have an impact in the team during the last three games of the season since he hasn’t yet persuaded Max Allegri that he deserves a spot in the starting eleven.

The 24-year-old is reportedly up for loan from the Serie A powerhouses, but there has been no word yet from the aforementioned Premier League teams about their interest in signing the player.

Djalo has never been a top priority for Tottenham, either in January or ahead of the forthcoming summer transfer window, according to any trustworthy source.
