‘Not good enough’… Gary Neville blows hot on Tottenham star v Man City

Tottenham Hotspur have missed out on the opportunity to make the Premier League’s top four this season after losing 2-0 to Manchester City on Tuesday night.

Spurs needed to beat the Citizens at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium to take the battle for fourth place into the final day of the season.

Even though Man City was far from optimal and Tottenham was playing well at times, the visitors still managed to score two goals in the second half to secure victory.

Pep Guardiola’s team finally broke the tie in the 51st minute, while Spurs and the Citizens remained tied at the half.

After a nice pass from Bernardo Silva to Kevin De Bruyne, who beat Radu Dragusin to the ball and squared it for Erling Haaland to score.

Cristian Romero lost a 50-50 with Phil Foden in the build-up to the goal, which sustained City’s attack and led to their goal.

Following the goal by the defending champions, Gary Neville criticized the £165k-per-week defender on Sky Sports because he didn’t like what he saw.

What did Gary Neville say about Tottenham defender Cristian Romero?

“How many times have we seen it over the years?” the Manchester City icon asked on Sky Sports.

“It’s not good enough that Romero lost the 50/50 to Foden, and we all know what’s coming next.”

The entry into the canal prior to De Bruyne’s square. That is a pivotal point for this season.

Romero did, in fact, play solid defense for the most of the match, up to City’s opening goal.

The Argentina international collided with Ederson later in the match, prompting a change for the Citizens.

Romero still needs to put in more work for next term, even if he has improved greatly this season and seems even better with Micky van de Ven beside him.
