“Complete lie” – Daniel Levy provides statement after big Tottenham transfer claims

Jose Mourinho moving to Fenerbahce means that multiple of his former players will now be linked with the Turkish club.

Romelu Lukaku of Chelsea has been one of those, which is not surprising given rumors suggesting a move to the Super Liga. Also connected to the team are two players from Tottenham Hotspur.

First, Pierre-Emile Højbjerg, whose connections to half of Europe make him a predictable target.

The second one raised a few more eyebrows.

Fenerbahce is reportedly interested in Son Heung-min; on Wednesday, these rumors gained a lot of attention. That has undoubtedly created a lot of controversy in the Turkish media, where such accusations are apt to spark a great deal of enthusiasm.

Turkey’s Sport Digitale responded by phoning Daniel Levy, the head of Tottenham, who flatly denied the transfer rumors.

“Son Heung-min to Fenerbahce is a pure lie,” according to Sport Digitale, who quotes him.

Levy is obviously unable to discuss any potential interest Fenerbahce may have, but it is obvious that he is unaware of it and doesn’t seem prepared to listen either.

That ought to be it, but if more Tottenham players are implicated, don’t be shocked.

On Tuesday, Radio Sevilla stated Tottenham Hotspur are pushing to sign Sevilla’s Youssef En-Nesyri. It was also indicated that a deal could be sealed for a fee between €20m and €30m in the summer window.

Sevilla sold Bryan Gil to the north London club in 2022, and they are said to be keen on bringing the 23-year-old Spaniard back to the club.

The report now states Tottenham tried including Gil as part of a deal for En-Nesyri, but Sevilla only want cash… to improve their finances.

West Ham United are also keen on En-Nesyri, and it’s possible for the Hammers to step up their efforts after Tottenham entered the battle.
