Several Italian sources have reported during the past week that Emerson is anticipated to finalize his transfer to AC Milan within a few days.

This includes a recent update from Gazzetta dello Sport, which said the Tottenham player had already reached a personal agreement with the Rossoneri for a five-year contract.

The Italian club reportedly wants the deal completed as soon as possible so that the 25-year-old can start preseason on Monday with his new teammates.

The report goes on to say that the Blaugrana may now move forward with an offer for the Brazilian, who the Lilywhites value at £21 million. The Spurs player is one of the options they have identified.

Tottenham would be delighted if Barca entered the picture and began a bidding war, but I believe Emerson’s transfer to Milan is already well along and that he is not going to back down at this point.

Furthermore, it seems absurd that Barcelona would wish to sign Emerson again after initially allowing him to join Spurs.
