He didn’t. But he is one of only two living Beatles, who are still revered as musical gods by many, and he stepped out front because people come to see him. He still plays the drums, but he hired a full time drummer, (Gregg Bissonette), so that he can be out front connecting with his fans. But Ringo can still play.
