Delighted Kaizer Chiefs head coach Nasreddine Nabi has welcomed the return of an integral member of his first-team squad ahead of a clash against Polokwane City.

Delighted Kaizer Chiefs head coach Nasreddine Nabi has welcomed the return of defensive mainstay Angolan defender Inacio Miguel ahead of a clash against Polokwane City.

The 28-year-old missed the club’s last two games following the suspension he sustained for his red card in the 4-0 Carling Knockout Cup quarter-final defeat to Mamelodi Sundowns.

Miguel had started all of the club’s first six games of the season in all competitions and is set to return for the league clash with Polokwane City on Sunday.

Speaking about the player recently, Amakhosi head coach Nasreddine Nabi said: “He needs time for adaptation, not only to the football but also the atmosphere.

“I think he wants to give his maximum for Kaizer Chiefs, sometimes it is too much!

“But he has personality, I love this guy! He has promised me he will be more careful.”

Reeve Frosler, meanwhile, still has one game to serve of a two-match ban after his red card against Richards Bay.

Chiefs are currently in seventh place on the league standings with 11 points from seven games, while Phuti Mohafe’s charges are in fifth with 14 points from nine matches.

Salum is on fire in Tanzania

Tanzanian international midfield star Feisal Salum is commanding a massive new pay rise with his current club Azam FC. Simba SC and Kaizer Chiefs are both lurking with considerable intent. According to The Citizen, Amakhosi have the funds to out-bid Azam and offer him improved terms. However, Chiefs face a tough stage of negotiations if they want to lure the midfielder away from his homeland. The attacking midfield maestro scored 19 goals last term. He’s already scored nine times in 2024-2025 so that astonishing tally was no fluke. He’s also steered Tanzania to Afcon 2025 in Morocco.

What does the pay hierarchy look like at Chiefs now?

    • Zitha Kwinika – R370,000
    • Ashley du Preez – R300,000
    • Yusuf Maart – R300,000

Previously, Keagan Dolly was allegedly earning a reported R1.4 million a month. However, the former Sundowns and Montpellier man refutes those claims, saying they’re well wide of the mark. Outgoing skipper and club legend Itumeleng Khune was on a reported R480,000 a month.

High-profile departures are on the cards

Christian Saile, Ashley Du Preez, Edmilson Dove, George Matlou, Edson Castillo and Happy Mashiane all face uncertain futures at Naturena. Congolese attacker Saile has battled to nail down a place in the starting XI. With seven goals and four assists from 54 appearances, it’s not difficult to see why. He’s been at the club since 2023. Meanwhile, Venezuelan star Castillo is sidelined with a knock so the central midfield trio of Yusuf Maart, Sibongiseni Mthethwa and Samkelo Zwane could be difficult to displace when the schemer returns. Mashiane was an unused sub last time out against Royal AM.

    On Saile:

“They have tried to give him a chance and be patient with him, but they are not getting the returns they expected from him,” a source told Soccer Laduma.

After a disappointing 2-2 draw with Royal AM after holding a 2-0 lead, Amakhosi will be a bit deflated. Here’s what’s in store for Nabi’s side in the coming weeks, with Ditlhokwe hoping to play some part:
