Kaizer Chiefs target Toaster Nsabata as new goalkeeper?. Image: Goal.com

Having signed a new goalkeeper in the previous window, Kaizer Chiefs are believed to have gone into the continent to bring another one in!

Kaizer Chiefs are believed to be entering the goalkeeper market yet again in a bid to strengthen their squad.

Chiefs recently released legendary goalkeeper and one club man Itumeleng Khune at the start of the season.

    Chiefs released Khune

They did not wait long to sign another goalkeeper, however, with TS Galaxy agreeing to sell Fiacre Ntwari to them. The Rwandan international joined the likes of Bruce Bvuma and Brandon Petersen at Chiefs. Despite being given the opportunity to start for the majority of the season, he found himself dropped recently. It is not clear whether it was because of a lack of form, or an injury he picked up on international window.

That, however, saw Chiefs revert to Bvuma and Petersen. None of the three goalkeepers have stood out and that could prove costly for one or two of them. Of late, Chiefs have been linked two experienced African international goalkeepers. This being former target Stanley Nwabali of Chippa United and Hugo Marques of Petro de Luanda.

Now a third international from the continent has entered the conversation. According to Soccer-Laduma, Chiefs are interested in signing Zambian international Toaster Nsabata!

    Nsabata subsequently new goalkeeper target?

“Yes, Chiefs have inquired about Toaster (Nsabata). You will remember him at Sekhukhune United. He is one of the best goalkeepers that the team can look at and they are convinced that he can help the team in this difficult times. He is currently part of the Zambia national team and is Zesco United’s first choice keeper and he has been doing very well. It’s believed that Chiefs have inquired about him. This could be a good signing as the team still looks at improving the goalkeeping department.” Said the source.

After letting go of the experience Khune brought, should Chiefs fix that with a 31-year-old Nsabata? He does at least have experience in South African top flight football as well. Feel free to leave your thoughts and feelings below!
