    Nabi coach

Kaizer Chiefs were thumped 4-1 by SuperSport United, putting coach Nasreddine Nabi back in the hot seat.

SuperSport United, laden with former Kaizer Chiefs personnel, from Gavin Hunt to Christian Saile, punished AmaKhosi 4-1 in their own backyard.

In the post-match interview, Chiefs coach Nasreddine Nabi apologised to the fans, saying, “so now I want to speak to the fans because I’m not someone who runs away from responsibility. I want to take this time to explain to them the situation and not necessarily to make excuses,

“It is true that today’s result hurts them and I’m also the first person that it hurts as well as them. This is not the game that they should use to judge their team or at least the potential of their team,

“This kind of accident happens in all championships, and it can even happen that the score is higher than what we’ve seen today. It’s not possible to be a good team three days earlier and then three days after you are a weak team, it’s not possible,” the Kaizer Chiefs boss added.

“As I said, we cannot always give excuses but I’m very understanding when it comes to my players and today I understood that they gave their best like in the previous games and they were tired,

“So, that’s the reason why I would ask you [the media] to be indulgent with the players as you have done it in the happy times, do it also in the difficult times.”

Chiefs to land two Royal AM players?

According to reports, Kaizer Chiefs are monitoring Royal AM pair Mfundo Thikazi and goalkeeper, Xolani Ngcobo, and could get both for free amid the club’s current downfall.

    Bound to happen.

Kaizer Chiefs’ recruitment and selling strategy has come under the microscope yet again with former players coming back to haunt them.

Former Chiefs players haunt Amakhosi in drubbing

Matsatsantsa’s 4-1 Betway Premiership win last time out against Kaizer Chiefs made it a league double over the Glamour Boys. Two former Chiefs players were on the score sheet for Gavin Hunt’s men, compounding the misery for Chiefs and their fans. Samir Nurkovic, who’s been with Royal AM since he left Chiefs, and Christian Saile were those two players. Congolese star Saile is on loan from Amakhosi so his goal against them will sting. In 56 appearances for the Glamour Boys, Saile notched seven goals and four assists.

Chiefs enter the race for Pirates target

25-year-old Muzomuhle Khanyi has been causing a stir in the NFD, scoring goals for fun. He recently bagged a treble to further enhance his reputation as one of the best potential bargain deals available on the market. Although Pirates are stocked in this portion of the pitch with the prolific Tshegofatso Mabasa and relentless running power of Evidence Makgopa, there’s no such thing as too many good strikers.

Kaizer Chiefs opted against signing Serero

Thulani Serero made 11 appearances in the esteemed UEFA Champions League, the last of those was in the 2014-2015 campaign for Ajax Amsterdam. In the early days of his career, Serero dazzled for Ajax Cape Town as an attacking midfielder. A Classic number 10. He was named the PSL player of the season in 2010-11, rewarding his creative displays for the Mother City side. His value peaked in 2015 while with Dutch giants Ajax when he was estimated to be worth R4m (R77 million). Serero looks set for a return to the Mother City, with Cape Town City FC in talks with the 34-year-old.

Was it the right decision to allow Saile to leave?

Two players stab Kaizer Chiefs in the back

Kaizer Chiefs have taken another painful defeat in the Betway Premiership and it’s only about to get tougher.

Saile and Nurkovic haunt Kaizer Chiefs

Serero is back in the Mother City

Former Bafana Bafana midfielder Thulani Serero is a free agent and on the brink of signing for Cape Town City. Kaizer Chiefs fans want the former Ajax Amsterdam and FC Twente schemer in the engine room for Nasreddine Nabi’s side. The diminutive star has won 43 caps for South Africa in a distinguished career which has seen him enjoy club stints in the Netherlands and the UAE.

Chiefs want an Orlando Pirates target

25-year-old Muzomuhle Khanyi has been causing a stir in the NFD, scoring goals for fun. Will Chiefs regret letting Saile go?
