Supercomputer predicts where Tottenham will finish in the Europa League

A Supercomputer has predicted a mixed Europa League campaign for Tottenham Hotspur this season – and Spurs fans will be left disappointed.

Tottenham Hotspur have endured a disappointing season this campaign. The Lilywhites currently sit 12th in the Premier League table with 33 points from 26 games.

Their hopes of securing silverware this season have been significantly reduced with Ange Postecoglou’s men crashing out of both the FA Cup and Carabao Cup in the same week.

With the Europa League now their sole remaining hope for silverware, Spurs had their potential path to the final and their round of 16 opponent revealed this week.

Supercomputer predicts Tottenham in the Europa League final

Ahead of the start of the knockout round, a supercomputer from Slingo has now predicted how far Tottenham Hotspur would go in the competition.

The N17 club are predicted to defeat AZ Alkmaar 2-0 on aggregate in the Europa League last-16. Then they face Eintracht Frankfurt in the quarter-finals, where they are expected to edge a thrilling 5-4 aggregate victory.

Ange Postecoglou’s men are forecasted to advance to the Europa League semi-finals, where they are expected to meet Lazio.

    MORE SPURS STORIES

The supercomputer has predicted Spurs to emerge victorious with a 3-2 aggregate win, booking their place in the final.

Heartbreak for Spurs as the trophy drought continues

Disappointingly, the AI predicts Tottenham’s Europa League run to end in the final. The supercomputer is forecasting a 2-1 defeat to Athletic Bilbao in the final, which will be held at Bilbao’s home stadium.

Several teams, including Lazio, Real Sociedad, Lyon, Fenerbahce, Olympiacos, Rangers, Roma, Bodo/Glimt, Viktoria Plzen, and FCSB, are predicted to be eliminated before the Europa League final.

Should it play out as predicted, Tottenham Hotspur’s wait for a trophy is expected to continue for yet another season.

The hope is that Ange Postecoglou and his players can defy the supercomputer and bring the Europa League trophy back to north London.
