Daniel Levy has been told Tottenham would be better off without him after recent takeover developments.
Levy has helped Spurs to grow commercially in recent years, mainly thanks to the development of the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, which continues to generate big paydays.
It also allows for lucrative commercial deals to be agreed, with an NFL base potentially being built by the North London club. However, when it comes to footballing affairs, it is difficult to argue that Levy has been successful in this department.
As a result, fans are growing tired of the 62-year-old and have called for him to leave Tottenham, although this isn’t thought to have bothered Levy too much.
However, a former-Spurs employee suggesting that the club would be better off without Levy after recent takeover developments might sting a little bit more.
Levy has been urged to quit his position at Tottenham.
Levy derails potential takeover deals at Tottenham
According to Bloomberg (26 February), Levy has derailed Tottenham takeover attempts in recent times.
It is reported that Levy has held talks with potential buyers, which include US billionaires and private equity funds. However, his demands have prevented these talks from progressing any further.
Therefore, the only way Spurs fans might see Levy forced out is through a hostile takeover, which could be a possibility. However, ex-Spurs scout Bryan King – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – has also suggested that perhaps it is time for the chairman to step down himself.
“Supporters want to see Tottenham win a trophy,” King said.
“Therefore, the only way that this season will be a success is if the club win the UEFA Europa League. However, I still feel as though the club need to be in a stable position. Who is going to own it, who is going to run the show?

“At the moment, the fans seem to be the last people to know anything. Communication between the chairman and the supporters is at an all-time low. Therefore, things need to improve.
“Everything is difficult with Levy, transfers in particular. Whenever clubs are discussing deals with Tottenham, it never appears to be straightforward. I think it is time for Levy to relinquish his position, and allow someone else to run the club. Tottenham need a shake up.”

While many want Levy to quit the club, it doesn’t look like he is going anywhere anytime soon, especially if he is derailing takeover attempts.
Therefore, it looks as though supporters could be stuck with the 62-year-old, despite their best efforts to get him out. However, while this might cause frustration among fans, everybody needs to try and put this behind them, and get behind Postecoglou and the players between now and the end of the season.
Spurs have a great chance to win the Europa League, but they will need all the support they can get.
