Tottenham loanee Yang Min-hyeok is catching the eye at QPR, and manager Marti Cifuentes has now delivered an exciting verdict on the youngster’s progress following his second start for the club.
This season, Tottenham Hotspur have had a handful of youngsters making their mark.
While some have been integrated into the first team setup, others have been sent out on loan to gain experience elsewhere.
One of those players is Yang Min-hyeok, who joined Spurs from Korean side Gangwon FC.
As a result, the club opted to loan him out to QPR, where he has been given the chance to develop in the Championship.
QPR boss full of praise for Tottenham loanee Yang Min-hyeok
Since his loan move, the 18-year-old Korean winger has caught the eye, with some QPR fans already calling for Yang Min-hyeok to start every game after an impressive debut against Derby County.
His debut performance also left manager Marti Cifuentes impressed. However, following the teenager’s second start for the Championship side, the Spaniard highlighted his rapid progress and positive impact.
As relayed by journalist Toby Bryant on X, Cifuentes praised the Tottenham loanee’s attitude and labelled him a ‘dangerous’ player.
He said: “He’s progressing, doing well. The last two games at home especially, he did well. The impact from the bench against Portsmouth was very positive.
“He’s growing, learning our way of playing and the pace of the game.
He’s doing good things and is still a young lad that needs to keep learning and improving some areas.
“His attitude is top. He is dangerous and has the pace to go forward, get in behind and go one vs one.”
Yang’s QPR goals and assists don’t paint the full picture
Despite the glowing reviews, the youngster still has work to do before he can establish himself as a regular in Tottenham’s first team.
His dribbling ability and pace are key attributes for a winger, but his physicality remains a concern—an essential trait for any player looking to succeed in the Premier League.
If he can develop that side of his game, he stands a strong chance of breaking into Postecoglou’s plans in the future.
Until then, another loan move could be on the horizon to further refine his abilities.
