19-year-old Amakhosi DDC star, Kabelo Nkgwesa has just been promoted into the first team. Meaning, he is now Chiefs’ newest player.

Mscsports Talent just posted the following captain on X:

“The utility defender has signed a contract with the senior side. Congrats to Kabelo Nkgwesa who’s been rewarded with a Kaizer Chiefs contract after impressing management with his outstanding performances in the current DDC campaign,” the statement on X read.

So, he is set to provide some support at the back.

Specifically, at left back following the departure of Thatayaone Ditlhokwe. Bradley Cross has struggled to solidify his place in the starting line-up.

It’s been another season to forget for Kaizer Chiefs centre-forward Ranga Chivaviro.

The 32-year-old endured another blunder during last night’s 1-0 victory of Magesi, failing to convert several chances, including one from inside the box that led to his swift substitution.

Chivaviro has been a shadow of his former self, unconvincing in front of goal and unable to provide assists, recording one in the last two seasons.

Limpopo’s big man has been far from threatening, scoring seven goals in his last thirty-six league games—this season’s stat line reads three goals in sixteen appearances.

Kaizer Chiefs signed Chivaviro on the back of his prolific 2022/23 season, scoring seven in ten CAF Confederation outings and ten in nineteen PSL games – the Glamour Boys thought they had landed a talisman; now their fans boo him off the pitch.

That means the criticism comes very easily, and that’s why you need to be very strong mentally.

“Even when you are at your lowest, you need to stay focused, stay mentally strong, and we hope that Ranga is understanding that. He needs to see that a strong mentality is essential to play for these kinds of teams.”

If Chivaviro continues to underperform, he could be out the door before the start of next season.
