The Israeli winger has huge potential, but he suffered injury problems as soon as he moved to North London, and by the time he got to full fitness, the squad under Ange Postecoglou already had players taking up his position, making it very difficult for the former Fulham ace to find a place at N17.

The chiefs at Hotspur Way went on to sanction a loan for him that would not only give him those much-needed minutes under his belt but also hand him time and space to rejuvenate his confidence.

And he went on to join Leeds United on a loan move last summer and has been playing like he belongs playing under the system that Daniel Farke has deployed at Elland Road, which led to the Whites being interested in converting the loan into a permanent deal as they eye a possible promotion back to the Premier League.

But Leeds aren’t alone in the prospects of his signatures…

Solomon would be an ideal fit for the Blues under Moyes

Everton have also expressed interest in signing the 25-year-old when the summer transfer window comes around as David Moyes looks to bring in more directness and pace in his front line.

We have seen how Moyes likes his wide forwards to operate in a carrying role in more of an outside-to-inside dribble and have that clinical ability from the outside zones—this is where someone like Solomon would be ideal for the Blues.

He plays with both of his feet and is fast and capable of beating his man and is a relentless presser.

Adding him would give Everton a much-needed directness and transitional presence.

Moreover, he can interlink with the likes of Dominik Calvert-Lewin and Beto as well by bouncing balls off them and creating diagonal space to run into.

And with Financial Fair Play constraints looming at Goodison Park, Everton needs signings that can bring value at low cost, and Solomon’s £10–15 million price tag is a bargain for a 25-year-old, and then his wages would also fit within the structure, making him a low-risk, high-reward signing for the Merseysiders.

Time for Tottenham to cash in on Solomon?

For Tottenham, his antics at Elland Road mean his market value remains high for them to consider selling, and then if you choose to see technical aspects, he isn’t an ideal Postecoglou winger given how the Australian head coach likes his wide men to operate in an inverted role and dominate possession, operate in pockets, and combine intricately (this is where your Dejan Kulusevskis and Son Heung-mins come in), while Solomon is a traditional dribbler, and he doesn’t ideally fit into this mould.

And this is where Tottenham can capitalise on his peak values while creating a space in the roster for a new and rather high-ceiling young player who can play along the wings at N17 for years to come.

Then comes in the financial side of things from Spurs point of view; even a £10–15 million sale will push Tottenham’s transfer kitty for priority positions like centre back and midfield, which could go a long way, especially given how Levy wants to bring in high-potential young players.

For the Blues to sign Solomon, he would be an affordable solution for Moyes while Tottenham can maximise the returns of funds from his sale. Now comes Leeds; if they are promoted, it will add another layer of complexity to his transfer rumour, and a two-club horse race to his signature would be ideal for Daniel Levy and Tottenham.

Wenham expects Leeds to win the race

And John Wenham, owner of the reputed Lilywhite Rose podcast expects the 25-year-old to join Leeds United given the Lilywhites ongoing transaction with the Whites for Archie Gray. Speaking in an exclusive interview with Tottenham News, he said:

“Everton’s interest could absolutely spark a bidding war. With these new owners in place, they will hope to have a lot more financial power. However, I think a move to Leeds would be sensible for Solomon.

“They seem to be heading in the right direction, and the owners look to be fully invested in pushing the club forward and returning to the Premier League. I think Leeds are on to a good thing here. As a result, a transfer there would make sense for Solomon.

“Furthermore, as I’ve said previously, Tottenham will owe Leeds money for the Archie Gray deal.

Therefore, that is an easy deal to do, Spurs just won’t pay one of the £10million instalments for Gray, and Leeds keep Solomon.

That is what I see happening.”
