Tottenham have scouted Fenerbahce defender Yusuf Akcicek this season

Yusuf Akcicek made his senior debut for Fenerbahçe last season, but this 2024/25 campaign has seen him become an important figure in Jose Mourinho’s team.
He has already made 15 appearances across all competitions, scoring two goals.
The centre-back is a highly regarded prospect in Turkish football, thus, it isn’t surprising to see him being scouted heavily in recent months.
Scouts from various clubs were present to watch the teenager in action for Fenerbahce against Rangers in the Europa League on Thursday evening.
However, Akcicek did not have a memorable evening as he was hooked at half time in a 3-1 home defeat to Rangers.
The aforementioned report adds the Turkish club have placed an asking price of just €20m on the young defender, who looks like he has a bright future in the game.
Gray and Bergvall have been prominent figures in defence and midfield, respectively, while the Spurs boss has also handed game time to academy starlet Mikey Moore.
Big Ange’s faith in promoting youth should be enticing to Akcicek.
Tottenham need defensive reinforcements to address the lack of depth in the squad next season, and investing in a young talent like Akcicek would make sense.
The Turkish youth international will be a squad rotational option initially before growing into a more prominent role in the first XI under Big Ange.
