A report from Spain has revealed two forgotten Tottenham attackers, who are both currently out on loan, have become extremely close off the pitch, but the pair will have to park that relationship on Monday as they come up against one another.
Tottenham have a number of players out on loan right now, with two of them currently plying their trade in La Liga: Alejo Veliz and Bryan Gil.
The two Spurs loanees have had contrasting fortunes this season, with Veliz struggling to get regular starts at Espanyol. Gil, on the other hand, has been one of Girona’s most consistent performers, with his displays even seeing the winger return to the Spanish national team.

Girona travel to Catalonia on Monday to take on Espanyol, and ahead of the pair’s showdown, El 1900 have dug into the two Tottenham loanees’ friendship.
The report reveals that the two players became close during their time at the North London club last season, pointing out that both were in a similar situation at the Premier League side, where they were struggling for minutes.
In fact, it is revealed it was Gil who suggested that Veliz join Sevilla on loan for the second half of last season, with the 23-year-old even showing the Argentine around the Andalusian capital during Christmas last year.
The report says that the pair, who became ‘companions in hardship’ at Spurs, will have an opportunity to reignite their friendship when they meet for an important clash on Monday night, but their first priority will be getting three points for their side.
What does the future hold for Alejo Veliz?
Girona have a €15m (£12.4m) option to buy Bryan Gil in the summer, and it looks increasingly likely that the Spain international will depart N17 this summer.
Tottenham face a tricky decision regarding Veliz, who has not set the world alight in his two loan spells in La Liga so far.
With the likes of Will Lankshear and Dane Scarlett pushing for a first-team spot, and with Mathys Tel arriving in January to compete with Dominic Solanke, it is difficult to see a way back for the Argentine in North London.
