Prince William was in attendance at Villa Park on Wednesday night to watch his beloved Aston Villa beat Club Brugge 3-0 in the Champions League.

Villa kicked-off with a two-goal lead after winning 3-1 in Belgium last week, and were playing against 10 men for most of the second leg.

Emi Martinez spotted Marcus Rashford’s run in behind the Brugge defence, before Kyriani Sabbe was sent off for denying the Villa forward from a clear goal-scoring opportunity.

Marco Asensio came off the bench to score twice either side of Ian Maatsen’s first for the club.

The Prince of Wales was pictured enthusiastically celebrating each of Villa’s three goals against Brugge, punching the air next to childhood friend Thomas van Straubenzee, the godfather of William’s daughter, Princess Charlotte.

After full-time, the Prince of Wales told the Mirror’s sports reporter Neil Moxley, “see you in Paris”, as he headed for the car park.

Indeed, Villa will be heading for the French capital next month for the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final tie.

Emery’s side will play at the Parc de Princes on Wednesday, April 9 (8pm) before hosting PSG on Tuesday,
