Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Lucas Bergvall has been one of the few positives for Ange Postecoglou’s side this season. The 19-year-old joined Spurs from Djurgardens last summer and has become one of the best young players in the Premier League in 2024/25.
Bergvall has been given a lot of game time under Ange Postecoglou and has been played in several positions due to the number of injuries to key players throughout the season. Spurs currently sit 13th in the Premier League table, but that does not reflect how good the young midfielder has been.
As per Sofascore, the Spurs No.15 has played 37 games in all competitions this season and has accumulated a staggering 1,846 minutes of football throughout the season. Bergvall has also completed an impressive 22 key passes this season and created five big chances.
The Swedish midfielder fits perfectly into Ange’s gameplan. Being 6’1”, Bergvall is very agile and can move the ball quickly during transitions. Bergvall’s positional sense is also second to none and he tends to frequently drop into the defensive third to receive the ball and play a line-breaking pass into one of the forwards.

“Incredible. It has been a tough season for Tottenham but he has had a very good year. He has taken very good steps. I like that he is humble and wants to get better all the time.”he The Sweden manager also added,
“I’ve spoken to Tottenham and they told me a story I didn’t know, that the last the player to go from a league in Scandinavia straight to the Premier League and play this much in his debut season was Daniel Agger. That says a little about Lucas’ performance as a very young player.”
