He’s one of the most controversial draft prospects in the 2025 NFL Draft class simply because evaluators can’t agree on where the quarterback will be drafted.

Cam Ward is widely expected to be a top-three pick. But Sanders? He’s been discussed anywhere from the second overall pick to the Cleveland Browns, to possibly in the second round.

Yet, with how desperate teams are to find their next franchise quarterback, Sanders is an unlikely candidate to slip to Day 2.

Yet, there have also been some rumors and even comments from Deion suggesting an Eli Manning-style power play could take place if Shedeur seems primed to land in an unfavorable situation.

Now that April 24’s draft is less than a month away, how does Deion feel about where his son could land?

While the New York Giants have a strong quarterback room led by Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston now, they still don’t have a long-term franchise solution.

A strong case could be made that quarterback is the biggest need for each team selecting in the top three of the draft order (Tennessee Titans, Browns, and Giants).

Yet, would Deion Sanders be happy with Shedeur Sanders landing in New York, where he’s likely to be a backup for part of, if not his entire rookie season? What about in Las Vegas, where Geno Smith is practically guaranteed to start for the full season, barring injury?

According to Deion, he’s okay with any of the teams who need a quarterback drafting Shedeur.

Yet, there is a specific destination that Shedeur seems to have his eye on.

“Shedeur has talked to me intently about all the visits with all the teams he’s had, so I know where his heart is and where he wants to go. If it’s New York, it’s New York.

If it’s Tennessee, if it’s Cleveland, if it’s still the Raiders, if it’s New Orleans, if it’s any of those teams that are seeking a quarterback,

I’m happy with it, man, because I know what he’s going to do to the organization.

I know what he’s going to do.”

If Sanders wants to play immediately, Cleveland jumps off the page as the best landing spot for the 2025 season.

Yet, that doesn’t mean the Browns are the team that can provide the best infrastructure to help him maximize his potential.

As we’ve seen before, sometimes players can benefit from slipping down the draft board, landing with a team that has more pieces of their core in place. Perhaps that’s what we see on draft day with Shedeur too. If so, teams like the Pittsburgh Steelers could emerge, especially if Aaron Rodgers keeps dragging his feet.
