🚨 Arsenal Open Talks for Mohammed Kudus — But Won’t Pay West Ham’s £84M Asking Price

Arsenal are ramping up their summer transfer activity, and Ghanaian star Mohammed Kudus is firmly in their sights.

According to Football Transfers, the Gunners have opened negotiations with West Ham over a potential deal for the explosive attacker — but there’s a major obstacle: his £84 million release clause.

Arsenal Want Kudus — But Not at That Price

Despite the clause in Kudus’ contract, Arsenal reportedly have no intention of paying the full fee. Instead, they’re hoping to secure the 24-year-old for closer to £50 million, a figure they believe better reflects his current value based on recent performances.

West Ham, having missed out on European football despite heavy spending last summer, are said to be open to a sale, particularly if the player is keen on Champions League football.

    Why Arsenal Rate Kudus

While his stats from the 2024/25 season — just five goals and four assists — may not scream world-class, Kudus’ versatility and raw talent still make him a valuable asset. Capable of playing on either wing, as a striker, or even filling in for Martin Ødegaard as an attacking midfielder, Kudus offers exactly the kind of tactical flexibility Mikel Arteta loves.

And let’s not forget — on his day, Kudus can be unplayable.

    Smart Business or a Risk?

Critics have pointed out that the West Ham man’s output doesn’t quite justify an £84M price tag. But Arsenal aren’t interested in paying for hype. At around £50M, Kudus could prove to be a shrewd investment — a player with massive upside who can grow under Arteta’s system.

That said, insiders believe he isn’t Arsenal’s top target for the wide positions, and his signing would only come if the price is right.

    What’s Next?

The ball is now in West Ham’s court. Will they hold out for a fee close to the release clause, or will they accept a more realistic offer to cash in on one of their biggest talents?

One thing is clear: if Arsenal pull this off at their price, they might just land a gem without breaking the bank.
