A pair of Springbok locks have signed on to reinforce the Vodacom Bulls tight five.
World Cup-winner Marvin Orie and one-Test jumper Nico Janse van Rensburg has inked deals that will see them deployed at Loftus Versfeld during the 2025-26 season.
Orie arrived from Perpignan at the beginning of July on one-season contract and is expected to contribue to the 2025 Currie Cup campaign. In a journeyman career, the 16-Test Springbok has represented the Bulls, Lions, Ospreys and Stormers, winning the inaugural URC title in Cape Town.
During his two-season shift at Perpignan, he made 29 appearances in the Pyrénées-Orientales.
Janse van Rensburg returns to South Africa after nearly a decade in France, on a long-term deal.
Janse van Rensburg’s contract runs to June 2027. The 31-year-old returns to Pretoria nine years after leaving for France, where he built a formidable reputation during an extended stint at Montpellier.
Janse van Rensburg made 174 appearances for the Top 14 side between 2016 and 2025, featuring in both the domestic league and European competitions. He played 11 times during the 2024–25 campaign, splitting his contributions across the Top 14 and EPCR Challenge Cup.
A former South Africa U20 representative, Janse van Rensburg earned his Springbok debut in 2021 against Argentina.
The Affies product joins a growing list of players returning to Loftus, including Bok flyhalf Handré Pollard and centre Jan Serfontein as the Bulls prepare for the 2025–26 season.
