Tottenham’s Radu Dragusin plan revealed after agent bombshell
Tottenham are not considering cashing in on January signing Radu Dragusin despite his lack of involvement, sources have told Football Insider.
Dragusin, 22, has already been widely linked with Napoli despite only joining Spurs from Genoa in the winter transfer window.
The Romania international’s agent has publicly questioned Ange Postecoglou’s reluctance to include the defender in a back three – and has also hinted at a potential exit if his client isn’t given more first-team chances.
However, it is believed Dragusin will be given the chance to play his way into Postecoglou’s squad next season.
A well-placed source has told Football Insider that fans are set to “see the best” from the defender in the 2024-25 campaign, with European games set to supplement his development.
Dragusin not set for Tottenham exit despite agent comments
Sources say there will be no kneejerk reaction to the 6ft 3in star’s slow start in England.
Dragusin has made just seven appearances for Tottenham, starting in just two of those outings.
Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven are above the 15-cap Romania international in the pecking order at Spurs.
He caught the eye of top European sides, including Bayern Munich, with his performances at Genoa in the first half of the 2023-24 campaign.
The 22-year-old was a regular for the Italian side earlier this term, starting in 19 consecutive Serie A games before departing for Spurs.
Tottenham are set to play at least eight extra games next season as they close in on Europa League league phase qualification.
Postecoglou’s side face Man City and Sheffield United in their final two games of this season.
