The Daily Mail reporter Josh Hughes believes that Tottenham Hotspur may find it relatively easy to complete a deal for Eberechi Eze as the attacking midfielder is represented by CAA Base, who the North London club have an excellent relationship with.

A whole host of outlets have linked Eze with a move to Spurs over the past month and the speculation does not seem to be slowing down as we get closer to the opening of the summer transfer window.

The latest publication to talk up the possibility of the transfer was GiveMeSport, who pointed out a few days ago that Ange Postecoglou had identified the Palace star as the ideal option to bolster his options in attack.

The report said that Spurs are expected to push ahead with a move for the 25-year-old but they are expected to face competition from Chelsea, who are also keen on the player.

It was alleged that Oliver Glasner wants to keep him at Selhurst Park and that the Eagles will not entertain selling the England international for less than £60m.

A deal is there to be done for Spurs and Eze

Hughes believes that if Postecoglou gives the green light to proceed, the Eze deal might not be very difficult for Tottenham to complete this summer.

The journalist said on The Spurs Chat Podcast about Spurs’ pursuit of the Eagles star: “His agent, he shares an agent with Richarlison for starters at CAA Base and they have a box and that’s a thing.

“It’s quite a big box from what I have been told, they invite families of players. I’m trying not to say something that will get me in trouble, but, wink wink, there is probably the scope for Spurs to do something there.

“I mention the agent, if Spurs want to do the deal, I’m sure there’s a deal to be done. Spurs wouldn’t be the only club in for Eze if they did, and I think the decision comes down to Ange Postecoglou.

“It was the same as Maddison, he was a CAA Base deal and that was easy to do, and I wouldn’t be surprised if that deal was agreed far in advance of that window. With a player like Eze, of course, you could do the deal, but the decision will be down to Ange. If Ange says he wants him I’m sure Eze could take that opportunity and come to Spurs.

“Without wanting to get myself in trouble, all of the stars are aligned to do a deal like that. Whether it happens is down to Ange, the club and the player, but I hope so, I think Eze is amazing.”

If Palace do listen to offers for Eze, one would expect a whole host of clubs, including potentially Manchester City, to enter the race for the attacking midfielder. So it remains to be seen if Tottenham will want to get involved in a bidding war for the Eagles star.
