Dallas Cowboys Head Coach Mike McCarthy is scheduled to undergo surgery, according to a medical report.
Unfortunately for the Dallas Cowboys, their Head Coach will be out for a few days. This comes ahead of a crucial game between the 9-3 Cowboys and their divisional rivals, the 10-2 Philadelphia Eagles. Both teams will be 10-3 if the Cowboys win that game. And the competition for the NFC East division’s leadership will be tight.
McCarthy complained of stomach pain in the morning, according to NFL Insider Tom Pelissero. He was diagnosed
with acute appendicitis after a thorough examination. “He is currently slated for surgery this afternoon, expected to be released later today.” He will most likely undergo minor appendicitis surgery, which is very safe.
During McCarthy’s absence, coordinators Brian Schottenheimer, John Fassel, and Dan Quinn will take over the reins of the team and guide them during their practice sessions in the run-up to Sunday Night Football. Since he is the offensive play-caller this season, his absence will hamper the practice sessions. Tthe team will not be prepared for what calls they will be subjected to on Sunday.
The Cowboys have a stellar record so far in the season. They are 1st in points per game at 32.3 and 5th in yards per game at 380.4. The franchise stands at the threshold of securing a 3rd consecutive playoff berth, but it’s going to be an uphill battle ahead.
