Kaizer Chiefs latest news on Fawaaz Basadien, Appollis, Velebayi, Matuludi

Kaizer Chiefs, even after signing seven players during the offseason, show no signs of slowing down as the summer window approaches.

Kaizer Chiefs are linked with a myriad of PSL ballers.

From Oswin Appollis to Asenele Velebayi, AmaKhosi aren’t just going for established names; they’re headhunting promising stars who have the potential to be Africa’s next best thing.

    Transfer rumours

    • Appollis is expected to choose between Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates this January transfer window – the Buccaneers are favourites to land the Bafana Bafana winger.
    • Kaizer Chiefs are raising their initial R10 million offer for Cape Wineland’s midfielder Fawaaz Basadien to R13 million as they push for the player this summer.
    • Rising starlet Velebayi is a top target for the Soweto Giants, who tried to land the 20-year-old during the offseason but had several offers declined – like the Basadien scenario, the Chiefs will presumably up their offer.
    • Thaband Matuludi is a wanted man with Pirates and Chiefs both after the right-back services. The Polokwane City defender will likely make his decision in January.

    More on the Matuludi situation

It seems to be a two-horse race in regards to landing Matuludi, however, according to the Citizen, Pirates are leading the race: “Chiefs were leading the race to sign him, and unfortunately for him, the move didn’t happen before the last transfer window closed”,

“There have been enquiries about him and I’m told Orlando Pirates are also monitoring the situation. Remember Kaizer Chiefs wanted to also get his teammate Oswin Appollis but that move also didn’t happen because the City chairman is a hard man to convince into selling.”

Here we go: Nabi will NOT finish the season at Kaizer Chiefs, says superfan due too….

Nabi has just taken over at Kaizer Chiefs but there is a bizarre claim that he won’t finish the season as the club’s head coach. Read more…

Kaizer Chiefs superfan Masilo Machaka believes Nasreddine Nabi will NOT finish the current season as the club’s head coach.

Machaka dropped this bombshell on the back of Chiefs beating Richards Bay FC 2-1 in Polokwane on Wednesday night.

Both Wandile Duba and Ashley du Preez were on the scoresheet for the Glamour Boys on the night.

The result saw Chiefs move up to sixth on the Betway Premiership log with 10 points from their opening six league games.

Now, Machaka’s utterances regarding Nabi would certainly raise a few eyebrows, especially among the Amakhosi fans.

And whether or not he knows something everyone else is unaware of is unclear but he suggested Nabi could resign and retire at the same time.

In his own words, Machaka said this would be Nabi’s departure would be as a result of ‘undue circumstances of nature’.

Nonetheless, despite all these, he hopes Nabi stays because he believes the Tunisian mentor still has a lot to offer Chiefs going forward.

Nabi recently underwent a minor orthopedic operation but he’s recovered as reported by The South African.

KAIZER CHIEFS SUPERFAN PREDICTS NABI WILL NOT FINISH THE SEASON

“One thing I’d like to say before we wrap up is that, I don’t think Nabi will finish the season with Kaizer Chiefs,” said Machaka on iDiski TV.

“It might be undue circumstances of nature. It is my belief that he might resign and retire at the same time.

“I don’t want to say much going forward but I’m just trying to say, I am just praying and wishing for him to stay because he still has a lot to offer to Kaizer Chiefs.”

Kaizer Chiefs’ Nabi explains, I benched  Gaston Sirino due to these reasons against Richards Bay

FILE – Gaston Sirino was an unused substitute during Wednesday

Kaizer Chiefs head coach Nasreddine Nabi has explained why influential midfielder Gastón Sirino did not feature against Richards Bay at the Peter Mokaba Stadium on Wednesday.

Amakhosi claimed hard fought a 2-1 victory over the Natal Rich Boys to move up to sixth place in the league. However, one of the major talking points was the omission of Sirino from the starting lineup, as he remained an unused substitute throughout the match.

The Uruguayan midfielder has been one of the key players for the Soweto giants this season, scoring two goals and providing four assists in seven appearances across all competitions.

Kaizer Chiefs’ coach Nasreddine Nabi wants to bounce back with maximum points against Richards Bay

Nabi explained that Sirino had only just recovered from an injury and that he had planned to give him some some minutes. However, the circumstances of the game did not allow for that.

“He’s coming from an injury, even the tournament that we played in PE (Home of legends Cup) he was injured.

“We were planning to give him some minutes during the game but given the circumstances with the red card we could not risk it but we’ll probably see him in the next games,” Nabi told the media.

The Phefeni Glamour Boys will lock horns against Royal AM on Saturday and will look to continue their winning ways to further climb further up the table.
