Kaizer Chiefs head coach Nasreddine Nabi was left frustrated after his team squandered a 2-0 lead against Royal AM on Saturday evening.

Kaizer Chiefs head coach Nasreddine Nabi was not a happy man after his side squandered a 2-0 lead against Royal AM on Saturday evening.

Amakhosi scored two goals in the first opening 15 minutes but allowed to KZN-based team to come back after half-time to force a 2-2 draw. A point meant that Amakhosi remained in sixth with 11 points from the opening seven matches.

After the match, Nabi lashed at Kaizer Chiefs players for their lack of professionalism.

“We feel that today is a lack of professionalism,” he said as per iDiski Times.

“We could’ve ended the first half with five or six to nil, this game could have had seven or eight [goals].

“Sometimes you don’t score because lack of collective or ego, but when you don’t respect football, the football doesn’t respect you.

“We are very, very frustrated with the two points that we have lost today because we controlled the game from the first minute until the last minute but that’s what happend when you let the opponent alive,” Nabi added.

Nabi left frustrated as Kaizer Chiefs squander a win

Ashley Du Preez and Wandile Duba were on target early on and Chiefs could have gone three or four goals up in the first half. Poor finishing let them down and were made to pay when Levy Mashiane scored the equaliser with one minute left.

“The other frustrating thing is, sometimes you can’t score, we had a lot of opportunities,” Nabi said.

“But when it’s three or four minutes left, we need to defend your advantage, but even that we couldn’t do.

“It’s very hard to understand what happened today.”

Kaizer Cheifs are back in action next Sunday against Polokwane City. The match will take place at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane.
