I’m not Mourinho’ – Kaizer Chiefs coach Nabi reacts after defeat

    Chiefs Nabi

Kaizer Chiefs head coach Nasreddine Nabi was furious following his team’s 2-0 defeat to Polokwane City on Sunday afternoon.

Despite Amakhosi dominating possession, they failed to find clear-cut chances throughout the match. Goals from Oswin Appollis and Simon Ramabu were enough to give Rise and Shine all three points and move them into the top three in the Betway Premiership.

After the match, Nabi blamed referees for Kaizer Chiefs’ third league defeat.

“You remember the game Castillo was out? I talked about the referee, all the people, the media, told me I’m aggressive with the referee, I’m not aggressive,” said the Amakhosi coach.

“I respect the referees because without the referees we don’t have football. I still talk to referees but today ayaya. On television I talked to the PSL to please analyse our situation.”

Nabi fumes at referees following Kaizer Chiefs’ loss

“We should have had two penalties and I think my left-back Cross is out and there was no red card. It is unacceptable,” Nabi added as per iDiski Times.

“If I lose, I lose because I’m bad and that’s football but I don’t like to lose like that. I don’t like to lose because of the referees. I don’t like it and t is not the first time.”

The Tunisian coach said the foul on Bradley Cross deserved a red card.

“Look at the action with Cross he may be out for two months. It is unacceptable,” said Chiefs coach Nabi.

“I respect the opponent, I respect the referees but give me the respect that I deserve because even the first rule for referees from FIFA is to protect the players. I’m not talking to protect myself because I lost.”

When asked about the failed changes he made in the second half, the coach refused to throw his players under the bus.

“Maybe sometimes the player is not in [performing in the game] …this is football, it’s not every time that you change, and you change all. I’m not Mourinho; I’m Nabi,” the Kaizer Chiefs coach said.
