Amazing:Kaizer Chiefs to SPEND BIG on 195-goal striker.

    Kaizer Chiefs Transfer News

Kaizer Chiefs coach Nasreddine Nabi has asked for a prolific striker since he arrived. This would definitely tick that box.

Kaizer Chiefs, fuelled by Nasreddine Nabi’s demand for more attackers, had Al-Duhail SC striker Michael Olunga listed as a priority signing in January but failed to land the former La Liga forward.

Few Africans are more prolific than Olunga, who has nine goals (and two assists) in twelve league games this season – the Kenyan frontman scored fifty-nine goals in the previous three Stars League campaigns.

His career tally sits at 195 goals and 34 assists in 263 games, during which he’s played in Europe, Asia and Africa.

    Can Chiefs afford Olunga?

The main obstacle to getting a deal over the line is Olunga’s R154 million price tag, a figure Kaizer Chiefs will struggle to meet – a deal is unlikely to materialise in the offseason.

Olunga wants to grow the game in Asia

Another factor why Olunga would stay in Qatar is his ambition to grow the game in Asia:

“It was not luck; they have really invested a lot in terms of football infrastructure, which is key for the development of the game. Without that, you cannot attract good players,” Olunga told The Asian Game.

“If you attract good players, you will have an opportunity to equally mentor good young players, which been a challenge in the past,

“Now, countries like Jordan, Iraq, and Iran are competing quite well. I give kudos to the Qatari government and football federation for their efforts in growing the game,

“The QSL is one of the top leagues in Asia, but for the national team to grow, player’s need exposure to play week in, week out under pressure, similar to the European game and Champions League,” the Kaizer Chiefs target added.

“When you’re a leader and a key player, you have to accept that responsibility and can’t shy away from it,

“Maybe we won’t achieve everything ourselves, but the footsteps we leave will illuminate the path for others to follow,

“It’s a long journey, but I’m confident the national team is headed in the right direction,” the forward concluded.”

Should Kaizer Chiefs empty their account for Olunga?
