The Pittsburgh Steelers reportedly showed some interest in New Orleans Saints quarterback Derek Carr, but he is now off the board.

Carr restructured his contract with the Saints, meaning nearly $30 million of his salary will be converted onto next year’s books, giving the Saints the flexibility to become cap compliant.

At the NFL Combine last week, Saints general manager Mickey Loomis stated they believe in Carr and think they an win with him.

Ultimately, it was an endorsement from Loomis that rang true.

“I think we feel like we’ve got a guy we can win with,” Loomis said.

Carr missed the last month of the season with a hand injury and was 5-5 in his 10 starts this last season.

He threw for 2145 yards, 15 touchdowns, and just five interceptions. If he had been cut, the Steelers could have been interested.

Yet, their market is dwindling at quarterback, and with questions around Justin Fields and where he plans to go, the team’s quarterback for 2025 remains as murky as ever.
