The most expensive players for the Kaizer Chiefs have been revealed. Not even Rushwin Dortley and Wandile Duba make the list.

Kaizer Chiefs get creative

According to reports, Kaizer Chiefs head coach Nasreddine Nabi has formulated a new transfer strategy, whereby the club targets foreign-based players, such as Bafana defender Sphephelo Sithole.

“The coach has apparently noticed that signing players from rival teams locally is very difficult and that’s why they want to see if they can get players from outside South Africa,” SoccerLaduma confirmed.

“Of course, the club is still to get the players they need locally but if they can’t then they will go outside the country and that’s why they have reignited their interest in Yaya [Sithole]. He is actually back on their radar,

“They believe he can complement the team very well with the current midfielders of [Gaston] Sirino, [Mdu] Shabalala, [Ox] Mthethwa, [Thabo] Cele, [Yusuf] Maart and even [Edson] Castillo. So, they will be looking at how they can bring him in now.”

According to coach Nabi, Betway Premiership clubs have been unwilling to sell players to the Glamour Boys. The club’s new transfer strategy is to target players from abroad. The latest example was Thabo Cele, who joined the club in January after leaving his Russian club FC Fakel Voronezh.

“We know the competition, it’s hard to sign players from other clubs in South Africa for us, so we need to change our strategy and we have a new strategy in management for that,” the Kaizer Chiefs mentor said via iDiski Times. “It’s not for me to talk to you about it, but the club, we have a new strategy that we are working on. After this window, we will maybe look outside, another country for other players.

“But it’s not about names, I don’t need big names, I need the profile of the player that can fit into my system, not a name. And we will go outside South Africa if we need to.

“But I don’t want too many players, but I want the quality players that my game model needs,” concluded the Kaizer Chiefs tactician.
