Hughes is out of contract in south London this summer but Football Insider reports that Crystal Palace are keen to end speculation over his future with the confirmation of a new deal.
The midfielder joined the club in 2021 but had been linked with a potential move to another club in the capital as a free agent.
West Ham and Fulham monitoring Will Hughes contract situation
The outlet names West Ham, Fulham and Brentford as potential suitors in the player. Hughes last extended his Crystal Palace contract in May 2024 with an extra season added. Hughes has a total of 174 Premier League appearances to his name.
It’s set to be a tough summer for Crystal Palace with several key first team players linked with a move away. Marc Guehi remains well courted by Premier League sides with Eberechi Eze, Tyrick Mitchell and Daniel Munoz all named in transfer reports in recent months. Talisman Jean-Phillipe Mateta is also believed to be a target for Manchester United.
Amid uncertainty over what the nucleus of the Crystal Palace squad could look like for the 2025/26 season, keeping Hughes in midfield is a major coup. Speaking about the player’s contract situation in January, Glasner said: “We have the possibility to extend his contract by a year. After that, it is a discussion between Crystal Palace and his agent. They are discussing doing it longer, then you have to find an agreement.
“There are three parts, Crystal Palace, Hughes and the agent – they all have to feel it is a good deal. As a manager, I have no concerns because I know he will be here for at least the next year and a half. At the moment, that is okay.”

Glasner went on to outline the player’s importance in his side. The Crystal Palace manager said: “Will has a great mentality. He has an outstanding understanding of football, anticipates the game and positions himself in advance, his quick passing with one or two touches. He knows exactly what we want to do in and out of possession, so he can transmit it [effectively].
“What I appreciate a lot is that together with Marc [Guehi], he talks in the dressing room and talks on the pitch with the players – he organises things like set plays and always pushes the players. I am really pleased we have him in the squad.”
