Manchester United loanee Marcus Rashford is back in the England squad
Marcus Rashford has reacted to his return to the England national team after being a surprise inclusion in Thomas Tuchel’s first squad as Three Lions manager.
After losing his spot in the Manchester United team, Rashford moved to Villa until the end of the season. The 27-year-old has assisted four goals in nine games for Unai Emery’s team, with them losing just once since his arrival.
Rashford joined Jordan Henderson, Reece James and Kyle Walker as surprise inclusions from Tuchel. “With Marcus, he is a familiar face but a different situation,” the England boss said. “I felt that he had a huge impact at Aston Villa, he made a huge impact from the bench mostly. The impact was impressive.
“The physical impact was impressive and most importantly, his workrate, his defensive ability and tracking back was impressive. I had the strong feeling that we should nominate him, bring him in and to push him to stay on that level to not fall back on old routines. This camp is to push him to stay on this level.”

After being named in the England squad for the World Cup qualifying double-header with Latvia and Albania, Rashford broke his silence on the call-up. Posting an image on his Instagram story of him in England gear, he wrote: “Never stop believing *England flag emoji* Can’t wait to get started *praying emoji*.”
Rashford’s recent redemption leaves further question marks over Man United. Amorim’s decision to exclude the England international for a number of weeks, on the pitch, hasn’t worked with the academy graduate showcasing his talent in Birmingham instead.
