Pundit says super star’will be a Premier League player next season’ as talks revealed

Victor Osimhen will be a Premier League player next season, talkSPORT has been told.

Osimhen has long been a target for a number of Premier League clubs and his international teammate William Troost-Ekong believes he will finally join in the summer.

Osimhen's loan at Galatasaray will end this summer

The Nigeria striker made the surprising loan move to Galatasaray from Napoli last summer and has continued his frightening goalscoring form.

The 26-year-old has 20 goals in 22 games in the Turkish Super Lig this season.

talkSPORT understands that Manchester United have already sent scouts to watch him last month, meanwhile Chelsea have been long-term admirers.

Liverpool, Arsenal, and Tottenham will all likely be in the market for a striker this summer too.

Nigeria captain Troost-Ekong believes the only destination will be the Premier League.

He told Weekend Sports Breakfast: “I know he’s a Chelsea fan, but I also know he’s had talks with all the top teams. It’s up to him what he chooses. He will fit into every team.

“I know Liverpool have spoken about getting a new striker next season. We will see.

“I’m also reading, like everyone else is, that he has a clause this summer. When he went to Galatasaray I think it worked out amazingly for him.

“I couldn’t see him playing there for another season, or anywhere else but the Premier League next season.”

That release clause is believed to be around £63million, while he would require top level wages too in the region of £200,000-a-week.

Former Watford defender Troost-Ekong has seen first hand those qualities that has made him one of the top strikers across Europe.

When asked about his finishing by host Tony Cascarino, he added: “It’s the part he’s working on the most. His qualities are his tenacity, he’s relentless, he’ll chase down every ball. In the air he’s amazing. You can play the ball up to him and he’ll hold the ball up.

“If he’s one-on-one in the box, or you cross it in, he’s going to score.

“He’s direct so I think that’s why he would suit the Premier League.”

Osimhen has been asked about a move to the Premier League previously and has admitted it is where he sees his future.

“Future in the Premier League? Of course I would like to play it one day, for now I have other plans for my career. When the time comes you will know everything,” Osimhen said last year.
