Report: The tottenham `Phenomenon` expected to snub move to Premier League side

Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Tanguy Ndombele is expected to turn down interest shown in him by Nottingham Forest, according to French news outlet RMC Sport.

Ndombele became Tottenham’s club record signing when he arrived in North London from Lyon for £63million in the summer of 2019, with the midfielder putting pen to paper on a six-year contract while Mauricio Pochettino was still in charge (Sky Sports).

New Spurs boss Ange Postecoglou appeared to give the whole squad a clean slate when he took over from Antonio Conte with Ndombele included in his tour party for their pre-season preparations in Asia-Pacific, but failed to feature in any of the friendly fixtures and also overlooked for the opening two Premier League outings of the new campaign.

The Sun reported earlier this month that Ndombele has not impressed the new backroom set-up with his time-keeping and attitude which has left Spurs looking to offload him on a permanent basis before the summer transfer window closes.

Ndombele has already snubbed interest from Fenerbahce and is now expected to do the same with Steve Cooper’s Forest, who were prepared to take him on loan with a mandatory purchase obligation included in the deal.

Instead, the French international has not ruled out remaining at Tottenham beyond the closure of the current window.

The sooner Tottenham can get Ndombele off their wage bill, the better.   It seems unlikely that any other club would be prepared to take on his hefty £200,000-a-week salary when he has done little to prove that he’s worth anywhere near that.

Report: Postecoglou tells Spurs board something important about Bentancur and Lo Celso

    • Estadio Deportivo report that Ange Postecoglou has told the Tottenham board he prefers Giovani Lo Celso over a number of other midfield options at his disposal.

It is said that the Australian is trying to convince Lo Celso to stay in North London this summer, after the midfielder spent last season on loan in La Liga with Villarreal.

The new Spurs boss has allegedly even told the club’s hierarchy that he prefers Lo Celso to Rodrigo Bentancur, Tanguy Ndombele, and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg.

Postecoglou is a big fan of Lo Celso at Tottenham

The Argentine was arguably Tottenham’s most impressive player during their pre-season tour this summer, providing goals and assists against West Ham United and Lion City Sailors.

Apparently, Postecoglou has made it clear to Lo Celso that he is an important part of his plans, just like new summer signing James Maddison.

This comes after the Spurs boss admitted last month that he is a fan of Lo Celso and believes he is a good fit for the new system in N17 (Standard).

      Spurs Web Opinion:

At the end of the day, the decision should be Postecoglou’s and his alone. He should be able to keep whatever players he likes, and Lo Celso does seem a good fit. However, I can imagine Bissouma, Bentancur, and Maddison will be the three once they are all fit.
